Can I spray hairspray on it right before I curl it or do I have to curl it 1st then spray?If I use nothing before I curl it dosent work,but if i use oil sheen spray it dosent work either.I have relaxed, straight,smooth hair.
I have Dove Extra Hold spray.

First get a better holding spray, maybe Motions or something for ethnic hair. A spritz will work much better than a hair spray.
You should spray the hair before you curl it to make it stay and a little after to lock the curl in.
The oil sheen will only give in shine, nothing more.

my sister has the same issue. she sprays it while her hair is wrapped around the iron and it seems to work decently.
