Good techniques for straightening your hair?

I have a hair straightener, and I use my Got2Be Crazy Sleek hair spray.

I have pretty curly hair...not super curly, but not wavy. I spray my head about 10 times then use the flat iron, but still after 30 mins or so, my hair doesn't get as straight as I want it to be.

Any techniques or steps that could help my hair straighten up?

Thanks,

I suggest getting a Chi straightener or you can get a straightener that looks and works like a Chi called GVP (generic version product) for half the price at somewhere like Sally's Beauty Supply. It's MAGICAL!!!

I have an HAI straightner it has a Red plate and it seems to work miracles, I think if you roller set you hair wet, then sit under the dryer, until you are dry, then blow dry with a Red Chi blow dryer and then flatiron the problems areas with the flat iron I mentioned you will be happy with the straight hair until yoiu sweat too much. But you have to keep in mind that too much heat is bad for your hair, so use it in moderation.

They sell the Herstyler, it can staighten and it can curl both wonderfully and it only takes like 15 minutes for me and i have pretty thick hair so it would probably be the same for your really curly hair. Its simple but its a bit on the expensive side, at the mall it costs about 125. But trust me its wonderful, they have colored irons for normal hair and a black iron for dry hair. Its the best!!

get a different straightening iron...I saw one on hsn for about $100 and it seemed to work wonders on there peoples hair. I was thinking about getting it for someone that I know that has curly hair. or get a professional perm

I would get some Gloss Drops. They are by Paul Mitchell and I LOVE them! put them on towel dried hair and let your hair air dry for a bit then use a paddle brush and dryer or a straightener. You should also use a heat seal to keep your hair from getting damaged. Paul Mitchell has a good one! I worked in a Paul Mitchell store and just love most of their stuff. It is expensive, but worth every penny! The Gloss Drops will last you forever too. A little bit goes a long way! Happy Straightening.

I had really curly hair as well and tried so many different things to get it straight. Finally I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought a at home hair straightener in a box. It's pretty much like the opposite of a at home perm kit. I bought the cheap one.. like $9.00 I think and it worked out wonderfully. I still have to use the hair straightener because it tames my frizzies but otherwise it is not high-maintenance. You will have to do the at home straightener every 3 months or so. If you can't find what you need at Sally's just ask somebody and they can help. I have put a link to the exact product that I bought. They have others to chose from though. Hope this helps

You need a better iron. Cheap ones dont straighten your hair quickly and your hair will recurl during the day. If youre really serious about having straight hair I suggest investing in a ceramic CHI iron, ive got one and theyre the best. Naturally my hair is very curly, but this iron gets in pin straight in less than half an hour, and it stays perfectly straight until i wash it.
