Hair Straightener Q.?

I have a conair hair straightener. My hair is curly/wavy and when I straighten it, it goes frizzy and starts to curl again after awhile and it looks bad. My instructions don't say if it can be used on wet hair or not. I have mousse and hair spray and things like that. So anyone got any tips to make my hair look long and smooth, and flat for a period of time?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

No, you need to do it on perfectly DRY hair! If you do it on wet, it doesn't even straighten it. trust me, I've tried it on wet hair... Also, try to get some straightening cream from SUnsilk (purple jar)

Dont ever use a heating iron on wet hair! It will fry your hair so if you keep doing it your hair will be permanently damaged. If you want to straighten it and dont have time to dry it just buy a proffesional hair straightener, they work better and dont damage your hair!Also if you want to get rid of the already done damage then get rehydrating shampoo it works great!

put it on the highest heat setting that will work well on your hair, make sure your hair is completely dry, spray some straightening hair spray on your hair, comb hair from roots, hold hair tight with comb, follow through with straightener.

you can do it with wet hair if you want but it'll look frizzy since when the straightener evaporates the water on the hair it makes steam. steam makes hair frizzy.

I hate to tell you this but your problem may be that your hair straightener isn't the best. So maybe if you straighten it allot you may want to consider spending more on a good quality one. I would suggest the CHI because i use it and i Love it. Also they use it at really nice salons and thats where i heard of it.

DONT STRAIGHTEN WET HAIR!

EVERR!!

what i do is:

put my hair up and just leave a thin layer down

spray the layer with heat defence spray

then straighten it

repeat this until all your hair is done and afterwards maybe use frizz serum to get rid of flyaways and frizz!!

Ahh .. Bad news . Yer not 'sposed to use a straightening iron on wet hair !!

Well when I straighten my hair , I use heat protection spray . And plus I use a professional straightener . I also like to make sure my hair's completely dry .. Haha only joking . =]

1. Dont EVER straighten ur hair wet again inless its is one that is FOR wet hair!

2. CONAIR sucks!! they are cheap crap!! you should buy Andis Cermaic multi heat straightener!! trust me, once u buy that one, u will never complain again!! I absolutly LOVE IT!! I think its like $18.99 at Wal-Mart! (u can get it some other places too!!)

3. Try using FrizzEase!! that stuff is awsome!! put is on before u straighten and it will lay to perfection!!
