it smells burnt even when i put hair spray and perfume in my hair! What can i do to make it smell better? Or do i need to wash the iron or someting?

I used to have this problem.

Wipe down the irons before every use. You might have the settings up too high and you are literally burning your hair, which would explain the iron smell in your hair. Try turning it down a tiny notch. Using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Leave the conditioner in your hair for at least five minutes. Put a heat protectant in your damp hair before you blow dry. After your hair is completely dry wait a few minutes for you hair to cool down. Then put a small amount of the heat protectant in your hand, rub your palms together and distribute evenly through your hair using a wide tooth comb. Don't use too much or your hair will get greasy or to wet and you won't be able to straighten your hair. Don't use hair spray, gel or mousse before straightening. Those products are not your friends!!! Use after if you must.

If that doesn't work, you might just need new irons. You want to stick with ceramic, tourmaline is best. Never use metal plate or velour!!

That happens to me, try wiping your iron off every time you use it. I think that smell is from leftover oils and dirt that are burning every time you turn the iron on. It worked for me.

You are burning your hair that is why it smells burnt.

When you are blow drying or letting your hair dry naturally you MUST apply a heat protecing product on your hair first. NEVER spray hairspray on your hair then apply heat, as this puts off dangerous fumes that are bad for your lungs.

Wipe it off.The smell is from the oils and burnt hair from when you straighten and curl it.It shouldn't smell after that.And to hide the smell if it still does,afterwards put a moose in your hair that smells pretty,It should hide the smell.

All tools used on the hair (combs, brushes, irons, blow dryers, etc.) need to be cleaned at least once a week. I soak my combs and brushes in hot water mixed with shampoo and then rinse well with hot water. Irons have a special spray you can buy to clean them off and blow dryers need to be checked for dust/lint build-up and cleared of it (you can get a duster in a can that uses air pressure to blow dust out of things). Now, if that doesn't work to clear the smell, I would say to turn your iron down because a burning smell might indicate the appliance is too hot for your hair. You should try using the least amount of heat possible to protect your hair. Also, never put perfume on your hair unless it is specifically made for hair. Perfume worn on the body contains alcohol and alcohol dries hair out, creating the perfect situation for a hot iron to burn it. Good luck!

Don't Spray anything on your hair or the iron.

Wash the curling irons with shampoo and water, the barrell and it wouldnt hurt to wash the handle as well.

Wash ur hair more frequently.

Spraying perfum in is just adding unnessacry chemical, especially alcohol.
